We had great times back them. There is absolutely nothing better than growing up in a small town. As long as we behaved ourselves Luther & Buck would let us go. Everyone watched after everyone else but believe you me if we messed up momma and daddy knew about it before we got home.

Carla,
I've read this post twice now, and I'm sure I'll come back and read it again as it brings a smile to my face, plus a few chuckles. Luther closed his eyes alot back in the day, didn't he? Life seemed so much simpler then. I have a 14 year old, (will be 15 in June) who has passed both his tests and trying to come up with a reason to get a "hardship" license so he can drive himself to school next year. His dad and I are not convinced we have a hardship warranting that wish.

This is one of THE funniest posts I have ever read on a blog! When you mentioned your daughter adjusting the mirror, I also thought--"Good job, she learned well," which is why it was so funny when you said it was a makeup check.LOL! You're a wonderful writer, with a clever sense of humor, and I really enjoyed this piece: )
