I love that you are paying attention, Brandi! We need more people your age to get involved. As it is now, the older generation votes and therefore politicians enact laws that benefit them -- sometimes at the expense of the younger generation.

Back in 2007, when Ron Paul was vying for the Republican nom, I remember really liking and agreeing with his viewpoints on everything from social to fiscal issues. I knew he did believe in limited government but totally dismantling the fed altogether is a scary idea. He is a smart man though and tough too. He was an OB-GYN and knows that the federal government should not be in the health care biz--which I agree with and have a vested interest in. I do agree that he doesn't really have a snowball's chance in this thing and believe he has never really gotten the media attention I feel he probably deserves.(Although I think it is getting better.)
I really enjoyed reading this post. Great, understandable summary of each.

Obama stepped into the role of Presidency when our country was at a new low, and people felt there was not much hope economically. Whoever steps into the Presidency this time will be taking on a huge responsibility and heavy burden. It will be interesting in the months to come to see how this plays out. Thank you for a well written objective explanation of what is taking place in our political world. Like you, I couldn't help cracking up over Ms. Bachmann's submissively becoming an accountant!
