Don’t let the snow on the ground or the wind’s chill fool you–spring is just around the corner. If you are ready to ditch your sweaters and boots and do some shopping for spring/summer this what I’m seeing: Coral — everywhere and on everything. In this photo from the March issue of InStyle magazine Michael Kors combines coral with another spring trend, the trench coat, something every girl needs in her closet. The safari look is subtle and pretty in neutrals. White is right and Prada is all about stripes — on everything. Shoes are either very flat or very high (wedges and platforms). Shorts are very short, and if you want to be hip, your jeans will need to flare by the time summer rolls around. And lastly, my favorite piece for spring: a silky, flow-y blouse. It will look great worn tucked into tight jeans and buttoned up or down depending on AAOA (age, attitude, occasion and attributes).
For the guys: Pocket squares! There are lots of ways to wear them — with a suit and a coordinating tie (but not match-y, match-y); or with no tie you can really go crazy with your color and pattern. For a hipper downtown look wear your pocket square with a dress shirt (open collar and un-tucked), sport coat, jeans (make them dark) and cowboy boots. Or, for an even more casual look — pair your sport coat and a loosely tucked-in square with jeans, t-shirt (nice, no logos!), and driving mocs.
